History of the Stone House Café
The river rock house, now a restaurant, was built outside of Reno city limits around 1918. Read more about what was once called the Phillips Stone House.
Welcome to The Stone House, a dining destination that offers an authentic and indulgent culinary experience. Our family-owned restaurant serves breakfast until 3pm, as well as lunch and dinner in a delightful European garden setting.
For generations, the Abowd family has perfected the art of superior service, creating an inviting atmosphere and delivering exceptional cuisine. Our ever-evolving menu combines tradition with innovation, featuring sophisticated and delectable dishes made from the freshest ingredients. Every soup and sauce is crafted from scratch on-site.

Breakfast
The art of breakfast making is serious business here. The choices are uncommonly numerous and from-the-farm fresh. From griddle to oven, the choice is never simple. Crab Omelet with free range eggs, Mauna Loa Macadamia Pancakes with pineapple sauce or Steak Benedict – choosing is the tough part.
Lunch
Lunch (The midday meal) continues our commitment to dining excellence. The innovative, fresh choices are unbelievably diverse. From the Italian Chicken Salad with basil, Portabellas, roasted red peppers and more tossed with pesto vinaigrette to the Shrimp, Chicken or Crab Linguini to the Rockefeller Burger which includes a little Pernod liquor to their Coconut Salmon sautéed with a Thai chili coconut cream sauce to their Philly Cheese Steak – your lunch with friends, family or business associates will NOT disappoint.
Dinner
Spend your evening here and taste the culinary delights that have been perfected through generations. The variety astounds and each elegant dish showcases the love and dedication perfectly. From Macadamia Escargot to the St. Germaine with lobster, scallops and prawns in a French floral citrus liquor crème sauce with mangos to a Filet Mignon topped with Cambozola cheese, Bing cherries in a cherry liquor pepper sauce – a return trip is a necessity.
